The winning selections from Penn State University Libraries Short Stories’ “Through the Woods” fall 2021 contest have been announced, representing five Penn State campuses. Each of the four Editorial Board winners and the People’s Choice winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card. All winning entries, including nine honorable mentions, will be added to the Libraries’ Short Edition short-story dispensers
Penn State Berks graduates from the classes of 2020 and 2021 will be recognized during the college’s fall 2021 commencement ceremony, to be held 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Santander Arena. Graduates from the class of 2021 will receive their baccalaureate and associate degrees while graduates from the Class of 2020 will be honored for their achievement. In total, 287 students will be recognized.
Berks LaunchBox powered by Penn State recently announced the winners of its Idea TestLab accelerator final pitch competition. The competition concluded a six-week-long virtual business idea accelerator in which seven selected startups received coaching and training to identify viable business models through intensive customer discovery.
Penn State Berks will present its fall mainstage theater production, "Proof," at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, to Sunday Dec. 5, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Admission is $5 for Penn State students, faculty and staff with a Penn State ID, and $10 for general admission.
Penn State Berks alumni Cory Dahlia Varona Corniel and Nicol Varona Cancelmo participated in an entrepreneurship panel discussion titled “Leveraging Entrepreneurial Experience to Maximize Professional Success,” a virtual event, on Nov. 10.
In recognition of International Education Week, Nov. 15-19, Penn State Berks will host a series of events designed to build bridges across the many different cultures represented at the college.
A group of Penn State Berks veterans have organized an appreciation and recognition event that will be held on Nov. 11, noon–1 p.m. in the Perkins Plaza. In the event of rain, the location will move to the Perkins Student Center lobby.
As part of Penn State’s Global Entrepreneurship Week, Penn State Berks will hold a variety of events for aspiring entrepreneurs from Nov. 8 to 12. The events are sponsored by the college’s Flemming Creativity, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) Center and the Berks LaunchBox, an incubation hub located in the city of Reading.
Prospective students and their families are invited to a special day of campus tours at Penn State Berks on Saturday, Nov. 6, starting at 10 a.m. at the Perkins Student Center.
Penn State Berks alumna and Mrs. Reading International Emily Kenniston will share how her college experiences at Penn State Berks helped her to reach her dreams and how she went on to pay it forward in her local community.
